That through the Old Testament prophets and the Hebrew nation, the promise of the coming Deliverer to Planet Earth was kept alive.  And like a star, stationed above the sleepy town of Bethlehem, Micah’s prophesy pinpoints the very place where the Son of God would be born into our world.    

"’I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel ...’" Numbers 24:17

" ‘But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.’" Micah 5:2

That in the fullness of time God sent His Son into the world, conceived in Mary’s womb by the power of God’s Holy Spirit.  And in His dual life, being also the son of man, Jesus inherited a human nature with weaknesses to yield to the temptations of sin. Living in the same conditions of sinful humanity, Jesus was tempted by sin but overcoming sin's deadly temptations Jesus remained perfectly sinless in thought and deed.   "’And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.’" Matthew 1:21 "For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:3-4 "... who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin." That at the last Passover supper, in the presence of his disciples, Jesus transferred the Passover ceremony to the Lord's Supper of the New Testament covenant. The Old Testament convenant of the Passover was to be fulfilled the following day with Jesus' death, as the slain Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

“When the hour had come, He (Jesus) sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. Then He said to them, ‘With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.’ Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, ‘Take this and divide it among yourselves; for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.’ And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.’” Luke 22:16-20

“For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
