<<back to Adam and Eve

That since Adam and Eve’s fall into sin, every human born into the world inherits a weakened nature, desiring to do good but also being tempted towards evil. And during the course of a life time through the deceptive blend of good and evil, to some degree all humans commit wrong against the standard of God’s holy law. In our weakened condition, compared to God’s perfect standard of goodness, our tainted goodness can never commend our lives to God and amend His broken law.

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4  KJV

"“Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die." Ezekiel 18:4

"For the wages of sin is death ..." Romans 6:23

"... you have fallen from grace." Galatians 5:4

"But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away." Isaiah 64:6

Ephesians 2:2,1 John 3:8, Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:10, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Romans 7:14,  James 4:17,  James 1:14-15, Psalm 89:48, Ezekiel 18:4.

That God did not forsake Adam and Eve even though they had sinned against Him, failing their test of love and loyalty. Meeting with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, God promised them a Deliverer would appear on Planet Earth and challenge Satan’s claim over fallen humanity. And this promised Deliverer was to be the Father’s only begotten Son. The Son was given to fallen humanity even before Planet Earth and mankind were created.

"So the Lord God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”" Genesis 3:14-15

"And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.” Romans 16:20

" Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, ..." Ephesians 1:3-4

"He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you" 1 Peter 1:20

John 3: 16-17.

Sacrificial System reveals the Lamb of God

That after Adam and Eve sinned, God revealed His mission to save fallen mankind. For Old Testament times, God put into action a system of animal sacrifice upon altars, as a deadly consequence of sin. This ritual of animal sacrifice was a symbol for the Son of God being the perfect, sinless Lamb of God. The Son was destined to die a sacrificial death on the altar of the cross, pouring forth His innocent life blood to make atonement for the sins of fallen humanity.  In this way, those who choose to believe in God can be saved from the deadly consequences of breaking God’s sacred law of life.

"‘And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing; and he shall bring his trespass offering to the Lord for his sin which he has committed, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats as a sin offering. So the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin." Leviticus 5:5-6

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’" Leviticus 17:11

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" John 1:29
